This watermelon margarita “mocktail” tastes similar to the real thing, but is non-alcoholic…so even the kids can enjoy it (and definitely will :) ). It is very a refreshing drink and perfect for those hot summer days. For a more authentic margarita style drink, rub lime on edge of glass and dip in sea salt (you may want to skip this step for the kiddies).

Easy “Healthy” Chocolate Milk *

This chocolate milk is truly healthy for you, unlike the sugar-laden kind you would buy at the store. It’s something you can really feel good about giving your kids…and yourself too ;) Mixing in the cocoa powder is a breeze with a stick blender (a.k.a. immersion blender). You can double, triple, or quadruple this recipe easily as needed; just be sure to always use half the amount of total milk to mix the cocoa in, and use a larger container as well to avoid splatter. If you are not on a sugar-restricted diet, you can use some real maple syrup to sweeten instead of the stevia.

Refreshing “Fresh Fruit” Slushies

Slushies are great on a warm day, but commercial slushies you’d buy at the corner mart are full of refined sugars like high fructose corn syrup. These slushies on the other hand are not. They are sweetened with fresh fruit and Stevia, so they are great for you! And you can make just about any flavor, or even a combination of flavors. (I’ve listed a few of our favorite combos below.) If desired, you can also use frozen fruit instead of fresh, but will probably need to use less ice and/or a little more water. If you have a Vita-mix, leave the peels on your fruits that have an edible peel (such as apples), as they add extra vitamins and nutrients.

Cafe Mocha – 3 Ways

Teeccino is a wonderful herbal coffee, it doesn’t contain coffee…therefore it has absolutely NO caffeine, but tastes just like coffee (read more about it here). Did you know that even decaf coffee has at least 7 to 10 mg of caffeine per 6 ounce cup, and decaf coffee brewed at coffee bars can contain twice as much caffeine because they typically brew coffee stronger. Enjoy this delicious hot mocha three ways….regular, cinnamon, or peppermint. It is also great served over ice, simply use extra-strong brewed Teeccino instead of regular-strength. If you can handle regular coffee, feel free to use it…but drink it in moderation as it is acidic to the body…read more about Coffee & Your Health.

Spiced Holiday Eggnog *

This eggnog is spiced “just right” and it’s healing diet approved…..there’s no sugar in it and it still tastes great. You’ll be wanting glass after glass of this creamy concoction. I know my kids sure love it!

‘Real’ Vanilla Milk *

This drink is as simple as it gets……..and tastes absolutely refreshing anytime of day or night! It is an easy way to use those empty vanilla bean pods that you scraped the seeds out of for another recipe. If you want to make this milk drink and don’t have any empty vanilla bean pod, you may cut a fresh vanilla bean in half ‘length-wise’ and throw one half of it in the milk, seeds and all.
