Sour Cream & Onion Dip *

Who wants to eat the chemical-preservative laden store-bought dip, when you can make this homemade sour cream & onion dip at home…considering how easy it is. Every time I make this dip it gets eaten up the same day…within hours of making it actually. We eat it with anything from homemade potato chips to raw veggies, such as carrot or celery sticks.

Lacto-fermented “Sweet & Spicy” Pickles

These pickles are slightly sweet with just a hint of spicy-ness. They taste similar to a bread and butter style pickle, but with the added benefits of lacto-fermentation. The bad thing about these tasty pickles are that they never seem to last in my house… they get eaten up so quickly. I just may have to lock the kids out of the refrigerator so that I get to eat more than just a few slices of these :) (Well, at least I know these pickles are so good for them… so really it’s a good thing that they enjoy them so much.)

Dark-Chocolate Frozen Banana Pops

Kids, of all ages ;) , love these chocolate-covered banana pops. Since they are quite easy to make, it’s a perfect opportunity to let them help you in the kitchen while you are making these. You can top the pops with your favorite toppings, such as shredded toasted coconut, lightly toasted chopped nuts of choice, or just leave them plain and simple….they are a yummy treat either way!
