  1. My doctor has just taken me off, white sugar, white flour, processed and prepackaged foods, gluten, soy, dairy and corn. Will these sour dough bread recipes work for me? I really love bread and that is going to be the hardest part of this change in how I can eat without pain.

    • Glenda, I understand what your doctor is doing. Sourdough is still a grain and will fight what he is doing in the short run. After your body has adjusted to your new diet sourdough could be a way to consume grains on a moderate level, (2 or 3 times a week). It sounds like it would benefit you greatly to contact your doctor and get more information about why he is taking you through the program he is, then you would understand why just another type of bread will not help with the changes you are going through. I would suggest researching sourdough to understand how it can be used in the future. Our sourdough book explains why sourdough is different than regular yeast bread and can be eaten on a moderate level. In the meantime while your body is changing why not look at the sugar and grain free recipes in our website that meet many of the restrictions your are currently under, (look in the tan navigation bar for sugar and grain free recipes). – Jeff

  2. My starter is doing so well! It was starting to bubble within the first 12 hours so I went ahead and fed it instead of waiting the full 24 hours. That was Sunday. This morning I made the fluffy pancakes and they were so yummy! My son turned his nose up because they were different from “Dad’s pancakes” so I guess Daddy will have to fix them next time :). Thank you so much for such a wonderful product and advise!

    • Hi Shannon and Jeff! Update… my sourdough starter is doing so good (I haven’t killed it, yay!!), so far I have tried several more recipes from your book and just this morning we tried the blueberry muffins (minus the lemon and used homemade kefir instead of milk), they were an absolute hit!
