Crispy “Fried” Sage Leaves

These crispy fried sage leaves are a perfect side and garnish for your holiday meals, or any other special meals for that matter. They are a delightful delicate treat sprinkled with just a touch of sea salt. My kids actually enjoy them as well 🙂 And they are so easy (and quick) to make.

You will Need:

– Fresh Sage Leaves (make sure they are not wet)
– Coconut Oil or Coconut Ghee from Green Pasture
– Unrefined Sea Salt

Heat about 1/4-inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat. To test when oil is ready, dip the end of one fresh sage leaf in the oil – if it sizzles then it is ready.

Add fresh sage leaves to the hot oil, being careful not to over crowd the pan. Cook for 20 to 30 seconds, then flip and cook for about 15 more seconds. Immediately remove from hot oil to paper towel lined plate and sprinkle lightly with sea salt.

Amount made varies, according to how much Sage used.
